Leeds-based Greyhound Box Ltd have announced a brand new investment into a TCY Printer Slotter which is set to drive improved efficiencies across the business.
The TCY Printer Slotter enables Greyhound Box to offer a flexographic printing process which is used to print packaging materials. The flexographic presses are capable of producing high quality impressions on many different substrates.
The decision to invest was made, as we wanted to upgrade our existing kit in that area. We wanted a new machine that could improve our efficiencies. We can now place better quality boxes onto the gluing machines. It is quicker to set up, more automated and these improved efficiencies will help us to increase capacity throughout the factory and allow us to do more work.

The new machine is set to improve Greyhounds service offering to customers, the machine will be quicker which provides an efficiency gain in the future and whilst having the machine installed we worked closely with ICE partnership, who have worked on our manufacturing processes and how we can improve and develop Lean Manufacturing Techniques which drives Continuous Improvement.
We have been on a journey to examine our efficiencies throughout the process, to make sure the way we are processing work is the best way, which has involved machine moves in the factory. The moves have been completed to accommodate the new machine and also to improve processes and work flows throughout the factory.
